A lot of people are leaving tumblr for other websites and I think that there’s one thing that people doing so need to remember in regards to those sites’ already established communities. We are the ones entering their space. That means we are the ones that need to adapt ourselves. It’s not fair for us to flood their communities and start demanding that they change to suit our preferences.
That’s a good point to consider.
For PF (which was pretty tiny and fairly new), that’s less of a concern: but DW has been around for a long time. There are comms there. There are mods there who won’t hesitate to hesitate to kick idiots comi g in to troll out on their ass.
Take it from someone who came in ten minutes late with Starbucks to LJ fandom and assumed fanficcers there would laugh at my horrid trolling of “bad” writers as concrit, like the Godawful Fanfiction crowd I hung with did: try to get a feel for a place before jumping in. Respect what’s there. And maybe–just maybe–consider leaving Tumblr purity politics on Tumblr where it belongs.
Keith’s still consumed with guilt over leaving the paladins to join the Blade, and he knows they all probably still resent him for it. He’s just never been able to articulate how useless he felt once Shir… the clone joined the team. It was as if Keith couldn’t do anything right with him watching. Maybe if Keith had stayed he’d have figured out Shiro had been replaced, but he didn’t. He’ll never be able to change that. He kept himself closed off from the black lion and ran out on the team and Shiro spent eighteen months trapped in limbo as a result. It makes him feel twice as guilty to know that Shiro understands. His essence was intermingled with the black lion’s essence, their thoughts were one. She thought once Keith was in the pilot’s seat they’d be able to bond with Keith and he’d know the truth, but Keith refused. He kept a piece of himself hidden from her and Shiro was never able to reach him. Shiro knew it would be no use, he tried to tell her that Keith would never allow himself to bond with them as long as he believed Shiro was still lost out there somewhere. Even now he tries to tell Keith that he loves him all the more for his fierce devotion and hates Haggar for using that devotion against him, for using Keith to deliver her spy into their midst, but Keith still has nightmares about it. “How could you possibly still love me,” he sobs into Shiro’s chest in the wee hours of the morning. Shiro just holds him and rubs his shivering back and smiles. “How could I not?”
Second, this means any poor person with a phone and the new Burger King app can literally get food for a penny just by going to McDonalds, which is probably a goddamn lifesaver if you’re regularly worried about where your next meal is coming from
We at Piczel.tv are sad to see Tumblr’s stance against NSFW artists, and would like to offer up our services as an alternative to Tumblr’s arbitrary shadowbans, deletions, and general stupidity.
We’re happy to host adult artists who are looking for a new place to call home, and are planning a few key upgrades and features.
Effectively immediately though, our gallery upload size restriction has been removed, to be likely raised to 10MB in the near future for non-premium users.
As always, we support image sets, and don’t compress anything.
Firstly, for those that have been using tumblr as a portfolio, you’ll need a way to download all of your art, if you don’t have backups somewhere else. We are planning a tool for Piczel.tv that will import zip files full of images, including titles and descriptions if we are able.
Second, we’re planning the following upgrades to piczel in the coming weeks:
1. Bulk upload/import to your piczel.tv gallery 2. Gallery UI cleanup and improvements 3. Gallery performance improvements 4. Gallery comments with in line image and custom emote support 5. Site-wide PMs (in the vein of tumblr asks, but better) 6. Archive button for your piczel account

Okay, so if you’ve noticed that when you go to your front page, a lot of old posts are randomly resurfacing and your new posts are getting buried under them no matter what you do, there’s a REALLY EASY fix for it!
Just go into the resurfaced old post, and edit it in some way. In my case, I added a tag that said “test”. Any kind of edit to the post will be fine as long as you save the changes. Edit: You might not even have to edit it! Just save the post again. If you have Xkit’s mass post tagger that might work as well? I didn’t test it.
Then I reloaded my front page and behold! The old post was back in my archives where it belonged!
(Incidentally, if the theory that this behavior is caused by posts getting flagged and unflagged, then you can see which posts of mine tumblr’s bot thought were nsfw by looking at the test tag)
